Though it might be better if he looks a bit more cartoonish (Which is your style so yeah!) as he's actually suppose to be an MLP style griffon. Some other examples:

Unlike the first picture his forelimbs are suppose to be featherless, black, and bird like halfway down; not furry paws. (Back legs should stay in kitty mode naturally)
